Remain

An edit I made yesterday. I had a photograph of clouds I'd taken as part of the photography challenge, and seeing some cute font online, I just put some on there. It's lyrics from the song "Remain" by Royal Taylor, a song that I really like at the moment. (Though I think an acoustic version would be best).

White T-shirt Re-fashion

The other day I bought an XL t-shirt from Goodwill, and cut the sleeves off. (first pic). Then I cut and pinned and fitted it until I had a cute little peplum. Super easy, made it in a couple of hours.  :) I busted the waist gathers when trying to put it on (next one needs a zipper), so I made up a little belt to tie it there, if I want it snug.

I really like white right now...and I'm trying to branch out in the wardrobe department, I can't wear black, brown and olive knit for my entire life. You'll be seeing happy colored things in the future. :)

I am really really bad at selfies :/

Bee Keeper Hat Cake

My little brother had his 6th birthday last week, and I made him a bee keeper hat cake. I had planned on a beehive, but as I did not make it right, it ended up as a hat :P I took some pictures along the way, but this is by no means a tutorial :)

This cake is all natural, as usual, and the yellow icing was achieved by adding turmeric.

the bees are made from white chocolate that I made modeling chocolate out of, the stripes are drizzled milk chocolate and the wings and heart shapes I made with with melted milk chocolate.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens

The other day we made a field trip out to a lovely spot in Belmont, the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. It's a bit of a drive, but so pretty there, and having grandparents along, we went to spend the day. Sadly the front desk lady was not too happy about the number of children, and they do not give out maps to visitors (which I really do not understand). Had there been maps, or signs, or guides, we might have learned more, but I still enjoyed going again, and got some lovely pictures of some truly unique flowers and plants. (If you choose to use these pictures, please credit me).

Stephen making a cup out of aluminum foil. Maybe random, but I think it was cute :)

Snap Dragons. These were amazing! You pinch them and they "snap" open :D

the lovely dome roof of the main center

They had such a pretty area inside for visitors to enjoy a packed lunch. Very grateful for this feature, as by lunch time the temperature was not inviting.
WONDERFUL AIR CONDITIONING

For some reason, I don't like the way our camera takes "big" pictures...I think zoomed ones look better. Maybe I just need to get a different kind of lens.

THIS.  It's called a Smoketree. All one word. And it's soft and fluffy and kind of pink and it's so weird but fun at the same time :D

look how fine it is! A very delicate tree.

a painting on the wall that I liked.
and then this is juice that my Grandpa bought. It's very tasty! :)
