Hoops

Care snagged a few pics of my outfit, I'm almost walking out the door to go to dance. I found a new very easy way to do a bang/curl which I will make a tutorial out of hopefully tomorrow :) Sorry if the pics are a little blurry.

Shoes: Shoe carnival? I'm wearing them so I won't hurt my feet again dancing
Skirt: made by me with the suspenders tied in a bow

Spotty Suspenders

Quick post today! I don't have much time, headed off to clean the house and go to a prayer service, but this is what I wore today. The polk-a-dot suspenders were given to me yesterday by Caroline and Mama, they said as soon as they saw them they thought of me :) I like them, they seemed a little geeky at first, but I think I'll get used to them. I have black suspenders with satin bows on them but I've never worn them, even though they are cute, because they made me feel silly. I think I'll go fish them out of the closet though, and wear them tomorrow. :P

I tried blurring the background on two of these photos and I don't like it. What do you think? Too "magical" looking or does it look ok?

my skin looks freakishly white in these photos. In real life, I'm tan and freckled lol. Not shining white!
A selfie showing how Mum did my hair and the suspender back. So cute!
Skirt: ebay
Shirt: my mom's drawer. I think the tag might have been Walmart?
Suspenders: VV

This outfit makes me want to go dancing.

Red Knot Dress

It's very hard for me to blog. Right now, I'm sitting in the Den, with my sizzler sister next to me very frustrated that she can't read her book about Pep the dog who is running and not stopping and hiding a doll. She's holding a microphone too, for added volume. Caroline is getting her haircut in the kitchen, and mama and the lady that cuts our hair are talking about debts and wise uses of money, and bills. Andrew is jabbering about random things with Benjamin, like trucks and sand and ice water. Benjamin is banging on a toy box lid with large wooden blocks. I'm sitting here with my hair in a mess atop my head and my thoughts running around in scrambled circles, ranging from dreams I dreamt last night, accounting things I'm supposed to be studying, and trying to figure out how to build my self confidence. There is also cowboy VBS music from a CD that friends gave us playing in here. Two of my other brothers have gone to spend a few days with grandparents (I can't wait for my turn!) and it feels a little strange not to have them here. But I'm trying to blog, and show you readers some photos of my Sunday outfit :)

I will say also, that last night I was able to fix my Edwardian corset without having to redo the entire side! YAY! Now I'm just a bit annoyed at my brother that messed it up, but not as devastated as I was before.

Kyla took these photos :D

My hair is in a flexi clip/holder thingy.

I still have some poison ivy (the ASL sign for that is pretty cool, it almost makes me feel like a pirate!) but for the most part it's all healed up. I can finally put my rings back on my fingers! :D

I really have come to be called the girl who wears red (it's funny, I seem to wear red on Sundays, even though most of my closet is full of green and blue), but I really don't mind, as it's my favourite colour. I love this dress, it's comfortable and pretty, and fits me just right. :) What is the most prominent color in your wardrobe? (And what do you think of me wearing the hat?)

Dress: eShakti
Hat: thrifted
Shoes: hand-me-down from a friend, originally Urban Outfitters
Jewelry: borrowed from Care

Caroline's Bathing Suit

A few posts ago I had uploaded some pictures taken of Caroline at Edisto....back in...April it was I think. I had made her a new bathing suit before we went, and had taken some photos of it too :). The lighting is a little harsh, but here we have them. We found the fabric at Mary Jo's in Gastonia. The pants were from Walmart :D

I Got a Bike!!

So, last week I think it was, my dad went out and bought a new bike for Caroline, Mum, and himself. I have not ridden bikes in years, partly because I DREADED to wear a helmet (may have been because it was hot and stuff, may have been because I thought it was ugly....), and partly because I tend to crash. I clearly remember the last time I rode my bike. It had recently rained (read the grass was slick), and my bike was old (read the brakes had gone out). I was flying down our driveway, which then, if you turn off of it, leads to a grass covered hill with a large trampoline at the bottom, when boom! I ran smack into the trampoline. Needless to say, that was the last time I can recall riding a bike.

But-yesterday I rode with Care and dad (I was on Mama's bike), and I managed just fine and had a lovely time. Now because I'm 16 I don't have to wear a helmet (oh yeah!) (no worries, we looked it up and read the laws), and I'm not sure if it was because of that or the riding experience, but I was enthralled, to the point that I drove to Walmart and bought a bike today! :) So without further ado, here are some pictures I took of my new bike! Oh, and btw, it was half off because it was outside and they were clearing out for Christmas stuff!
I can carry people or things, weighing 22lbs. or less :P
The cute little seat! And it has springs for added comfort! I have no idea what the brand Panama Jack is. Nor do I really care. But the writing is pretty :)
I am wearing: Pink cashmere sweater: thrifted
pink skirt: made by me
flower chiffon headscarf: thrifted

the handlebars are foam dyed to look like wood isn't that adorable??

Cup holder. It also has a bottle opener lol

headscarf :)
This bike is wonderful and I'm very happy with it and will be riding it lots more in the future! I need to find a basket so I can carry the camera along with me too. It's a cruiser bike, which means it's a little hard to ride uphill, but I don't really care :) The tires are pretty.
