Birthday Beach Trip || Part More || PICTURE HEAVY!!!

Due to the fact that there are so many pictures in this post, I'm going to try and keep the writing at a minimum.  You can see the sunrise pictures here, my outfit pictures here, the helicopter flight here, and Callan's outfit pictures here, if you've missed those posts :).  It's kind of hard photographing a trip like this, because when you're behind a camera the whole time you almost miss some of it. But at the same time, I love having pictures so that years or months or even just weeks later, you can look back at it and enjoy it all over again. Plus you have pictures to pass down and share :) This trip was a trip I'll remember forever, but it's nice having pictures too! :D

Our hotel room was absolutely gorgeous! On the 11th floor with windows all around, and the ocean right there in front of us. We all agreed just sitting way up there enjoying the view was one of our favorite parts of the trip.

A Denim Dress

(yes Mimi, you read that right ;P)
Denim is not my thing. I've always had problems with finding blue jeans that fit, I've had a life long opposition to wearing jean skirts (I just don't like them), and a jumper or overalls? no way (I actually have some enormous overalls to show you in an upcoming outfit post :P). But several months ago I was at VV with Annalise and we saw this dress and just really liked it. And so we bought it :). I've only worn it a few times though. 
That is until I altered it anyway. I took off a pretty big chunk from the bottom so the hem hit at a more flattering place on my leg. And with that fabric I'd cut off I turned it into a belt. I liked the dress before, but I like it a whole lot more now, and I've worn it almost every day this week. :D

I put some paper flowers in my hair cause it was pretty outside and I felt like it :)

Rainy Day

I'm sitting in the sunroom. Eating leftover onion rings and "Chicken Something" from Sports Page. I have two containers of "onion ring sauce" and some honey mustard. And my coca cola glass has ice water in it. There's a misty light pouring softly through the windows. The kind of light you can't see but yet it's there. I hear the frogs croaking already on the sewer drain trail, just over the creek. And it's raining. Ever so softly- it's drops making a hushed patter on the sunroom's flat roof. Calm. Beautiful.   

I should go take a rainy walk in the woods. To my own little mountain where I'll sit on some wet leaves and look out over the creek, the trail, and part of a new development. 

The rain is getting louder. So is my head. It still hasn't overpowered the frogs. I blow my nose. Maybe this is why my head hurts. Maybe....but not really. 

Water runs down my glass cup, and at the same time a droplet races it down a tree. The skies open up and the rain pours. I can't hear the frogs anymore. 

A Sailor Dress

I guess everything will get posted a day late this week haha. Sorry about my consistency ya'll. I did have a fever yesterday, but anyways. 

Here are a few snaps of one of my newest dresses, bought on half off day at VV. It's a sailor dress! And it's knit :D The only alterations I did to it was shorten the dress since originally it hit at the "awkward place" on my leg. It hangs a little better now too. 

Also at VV I found some hot rollers that totalled $3. Not a bad deal eh? Mom hot rolled my hair, and though it didn't hold all that well, it did add some bounce to my ponytail, and it kept my bangs curled behind my ear.

Kyla had her 17th!!! birthday on Sunday :D And even though I was unable to go due to being sick :/ I was able to send along the cake I made for her birthday. :D Kyla I love you so much!  We've gotten to share so many lunches, and inside jokes, and pictures, and little pieces of sidewalk-stories, siblings, emails, and shopping trips to World Market and Harris Teeter :) If I had to pick one person that I would say lived my life with me it would probably be you :) You've been there when I fell asleep and someone thought I was dead, when I discovered the whistle register, to take my outfit pictures, and ride on four wheelers. Oh and "steal" glass bottles of cheerwine :P You never stop making me smile and if I ever have a bad day you make it better. :) You're my sister from another mother :D I can't wait to see what happens next year!!!! xoxo
