Black Embelishments

Y'all, I got a petticoat. Like a REAL petticoat. Ive made, idk like 5, but they just didn't have that REALness to them, but this one DOES. I'm not wearing it in these pictures, because this is what I wore on Tuesday and I didn't get the petticoat until Wednesday night. But let me tell you about said petticoat.....

Its white. This fact isn't awfully important, but I'm happy its white. White just seems like a natural color for a petticoat to be. Now is the important part(s). It's so very very fluffy. Two layers, each with three layers of ruffles on the bottom. Which total (in case you can't do math very well...*cough cough* Callan *cough cough*) is 6 layers of ruffles at the bottom. Which, my friends, means that if you were to look at the underside of my skirts all you'd see is ruffles and then my two legs poking out. When I spin it's amazing-at least to me :). 

It's like walking in a cloud. A cloud because it's made of nylon chiffon, which is super soft :) But now onto these outfit pictures....

I did a regular roll in the front (using my own hair), and a sock bun.

eShakti Dress To Skirt

Before you freak out, I did not cut my own eShakti dress up. I cut Carolines :P Probably, oh I don't know, 2 going on 3? months ago, she also ordered a few dresses from eShakti. But they weren't made petite, and due to the style of bodice, skirt, and collar, there was one dress I couldn't fix for her. And so I grabbed the scissors and chopped it into a skirt. A very cute skirt I might add :) And even better than the fact that it's cute, it fits us both. Cheers! These pictures are from a lovely afternoon and evening we spent at Kyla's house :D. Oh, I did my hair all by myself :D Her little twin sisters told me my hair looked like a flower...that I had a flower on my head. :P It didn't turn out quite how I wanted it, but it wasn't that bad either. Ok it was weird but I can handle weird :) (This was before I got my hair cut) Picture credits go to Kyla, who is a very talented photographer!!

It was so pretty as the sun was setting. I was on a bumpy ride in the back of a truck bed thus most of  my photos ended up blurry, but these two didn't. So beautiful out in "the country" :P

This November marks the 2nd anniversary of us going to Latta. Which means the 2nd year since we met the Lawings, which means the 2nd year since Care met Ann Marie. And since it's November, and it's Thursday, I thought it'd be fun to do a little #ThrowBackThursday post with pictures I took of them two years ago. Ann Marie has been such a blessing-she's an answer to years and years of prayers and I thank God for her, not every day but almost everyday :) I love you Ann Marie!!!  She brings out the best in Caroline, and they are so fabulous when they're together. Rain or shine, they go through everything together and are as close as two peas in a pod. Or two girls in regency dresses :)

This one is my favorite. We have it posted on the wall in our room :)

Two years behind us and I pray they'll be many more ahead. :D I'm taking these giggly girls to dance tonight, which means they'll talk their heads off and everyone elses ears off and laugh so much the poor boys in our van won't know what to do with them :P

1932

Im getting beginning to worry that I'm gonna be a Jill of all trades and master of none. But the thing is, there's SO much interesting stuff to learn about!!! Anyways.... My grandpa has been collecting peices of 1932, '33, and '34 Ford pickups. He's got pretty much everything, rusting away, scattered in various parts of his property, and has for years and years. He's going to make a "retro rod" and refurb a 1932 pickup. And the funny thing is he was planning on starting to work on it again this winter. (Its all in peices right now) Well I was starting to think it would be AWESOME if I could work on it with him. FYI, I'm so not mechanical, and know like as close nothing about cars as a person can get. But I mean, how cool would that be, to build an antique car with my grandpa??!! If Care, and J and Ste work on it too, we could probably make some good progress. Many hands make light work, right? We would have some bonding time with grandpa (his love language is service), learn a LOT about mechanical car stuff, and make a pretty cool truck.  Here's a pic of what it will kinda look like when its done. (Truck pictured is a '33. Only difference between a '33 and a '32 is a 4 inch space in the frame where the bed is.) (And a '33 can be made delux which has something to do with the dashboard and interior I think).

Now our plan would be that us four kids would go spend a couple days once a month and work on the truck. Grandpa hasn't said yes to the whole plan yet but I'm  HOPING WITH ALL MY MIGHT that he will :-)  Grandma thinks it would be great. And so does mom. :-)  And speaking of the once a month.... if we planned it right Grandma Caroline and I could go swing dancing that Saturday night. (They have swing dances once a month :-D ). (One of my favorite things to do is swing dance with grandma and Care) But obviously it would be mainly about the truck. :) I'm so excited! Its going to be beautiful!!! I will let you know what happens! (if we get to build it with him or not) :-) 

Parade Outfit

It was a rather frigid morning on Saturday, which called for my big coat. Not my biggest coat (also known as the gangster coat lol), but my dress coat. Which was a FIND for $10 at Goodwill, last year I believe? Mom found it :). 

My hair was curled with foam rollers, and I did brush it out after the pictures, and was very pleased with the result. I didn't have time to do it before the parade (grrrrr), but afterwards it looked just like a proper 40's hairstyle and so I was very happy :). After the pictures I also teased the roots a little to give some more volume.

I'm not sure why I only have one glove on...I had been wearing two when in the parade.

These next two pics were so weird I had to put them in here. I'm assuming I was flinging my hair back and got a picture taken while this was happening? lol they're so funny looking!

Care and I went shopping with Mimi and Poppy recently, and this sweater was one of our finds :) I have a burgundy one just like it too :D. It's the perfect length for wearing over a dress to make it look different and feel a little warmer. I'm wearing a summer dress, but since I'm wearing the sweater it looks more like an all year round dress. Plus I love how the collar lays over the sweater :).

Veteran's Day Parade (Picture Heavy)

I told y'all we were going to a Veterans parade, right? My grandpa orchestrated and planned the whole thing. And that makes me very proud, that for one he's a veteran, and for two put on such an amazing parade. It really was amazing! And I will warn you that I took an awful lot of pictures and I hope you make it all the way to the bottom of this post! I love you grandpa! Thank you for all that you've done!! ♥♥♥

We had an excellent turn out of spectators I thought. Kind of hard to estimate but like several blocks worth of both sides of the streets. A lot!

There were hundreds of school kids in the parade. Literally every high school in the area showed up with their bands, ROTC units, flag people and dancers. It was crazy!!!! Crazy awesome. Even though they did show up a little off time and there was a little stress of getting them all in line. But grandpa did it and it was wonderful!

This school's uniforms were my fav. Snazzy yet classy :-) 

These kids, let me tell you, they're pretty sweet. They all danced, including the musicians!

Grandpa drove his big truck with the flag trailer behind. It's an enormous flag, which then a bunch of different smaller flags on the end of the trailor. Very majestic. It was moving to see everyone that was sitting beside the road stand up when it drove past. Especially the old guys that had to struggle to their feet.
